4th of july
Today america celebrates its 230th day of indepence. Zicar planned to go the financial district but we realized that it makes no sense since everything will be closed on this day. Instead we did kind of nothing. I played some virtual pool with Mark and Zicar did some laundry and kind of just hang around. We wanted to see the fireworks but due to various reasons it became kind of late and we decided to only walk to central park. Which is kind of the wrong place to see anything. The fireworks are held on 3 barges in the eastriver and the view on that section of the sky is kind of blocked from central park by a lot of very high buildings. We could only hear the fireworks and see some glowing of the night sky and that was it.
I got in a conversation with a retired jewish guy from Sweden which was kind of nice but he rattled on and on so I was glad when Zicar started to just leave so I could convince the man we had to go.
Since today is our flying day we don't have much time to do any stuff. So with this entry the blog is almost at his end. I will post a final entry tomorrow when we have returned home again. At that point I will also be able to fix the problem with the photo site and I will upload the last set of photos.
